Attribute Annotation

Concept

In the Sail instruction-set semantics specification language, an attribute annotation is a form of metadata that can be attached to definitions to carry auxiliary information used by tools, backends, or type-system extensions. Attribute annotations are part of Sail's BNF grammar and are reused in several syntactic positions, including definitions, function clauses, and as general declaration modifiers.
